Designed by industry insiders to show you the inspirations, connections and business opportunities available at Market, this one-day journey will take you through some of their best loved showrooms. You’ll meet and greet makers and influencers who move our industry forward, and learn how to use High Point as a business-building, connection-making, inspirational encounter that will boost your professional brand.

All tours will take place on opening day of Fall Market, Saturday October 19, 2019.

Michel Smith Boyd

American interior designer and star of the hit Bravo show, Buying it Blind, Michel is known for the signature, sumptuous style of his Atlanta based firm, Michel Smith Boyd Interiors. Drawing from a breadth of influences that include residential and commercial interior design, as well as curated collections of luxe rugs, fabrics and trims, wall coverings, decorative home accessories, and objets d'art, he masterfully juxtaposes masculine and feminine sophistication, and seamlessly blends it all under one roof to set the perfect mood. Michel prides himself on creating spaces that his clients not only adore but also delight in calling home, and he has earned countless accolades for his distinctive, cultivated, and soulful vibe, including recognition as one of the Top 20 African American Designers in the U.S. Additionally, Michel’s work has graced the pages of Elle Décor, Traditional Home, Vogue, Veranda, Ebony, and The Washington Post, to name just a few.

Jeanne K. Chung

Based in Southern California, luxury interior designer and retailer Jeanne Chung is known for an eclectic design aesthetic that bridges classic design principles with a modern twist. Her extensive knowledge of historical styles and periods equips her with the confidence to mix vintage with modern so that the spaces she designs appear as though they are effortless and have evolved over time. Through her design blog Cozy Stylish Chic, Jeanne has become recognized as an influencer in the industry. She is a regular speaker on trade show designer panels, and has served as a High Point Market Style Spotter.

Linda Holt

After a twenty-five year career as one of Boston’s top commercial headshot photographers, Linda launched her interior design business, Linda Holt Creative, in 2011. As a photographer, clients sought her out not only for her ability to make them look their very best, but also for her skill in making their personality shine through the lens. Today, she applies those very same principles to designing rooms that beautifully reflect the unique personality of each homeowner and their family. On her blog, “Focus on Creativity” Linda shares her two passions of photography and interior design. Building on her personal success in setting aside her heavy DSLR cameras and shooting exclusively with her iPhone, she is currently working on an online photography class that teaches interior designers and creatives to get the best photos possible with their iPhones. Linda is also a contributing writer on trends and design for Merrimack Valley Magazine.

Jana Platina Phipps

Affectionately called Trim Queen by her clients, Jana uses her blog and social media channels to chronicle the design community’s creative use of trimmings. She shares her knowledge of passementerie and modern embellishment at The New York School of Interior Design, at Continuing Education Seminars, and with attendees of Texworld and the International Window Coverings Expo. In her hands-on Trim Alchemy workshops, Jana teaches consumers how to use trimmings to turn something ordinary into extraordinary. She is a regular contributor to IWCE Vision Magazine, a sought after guest blogger, regular leader of the High Point Market Design Bloggers Tour, and serves on the advisory board of the Design Influencers Conference, and the International Textile Alliance Board of Directors.

Sarah Walker

With more than a decade of experience as a Canadian designer who lovingly designs modern classic homes that tell the story of her residential design clients’ fascinating lives, Sarah has earned a reputation for designs that embody livable luxury, approachable sophistication, plus an edgy, eclectic mix. Her passion is to guide her clients on a journey to designing beautiful, sustainable, and healthy custom-tailored homes in which they live the lives they love.


In order to qualify for the Insider’s Tour, you must be a member of the home furnishings industry who is eligible for a buyer pass, and have never attended High Point Market or have not been to more than one Market within the past two years. You also can never have attended a previous Insider's Tour. Please see our registration page to review the requirements for a buyer pass.
