What you need to know before you request your passes

As part of our plan to ensure your safety and well-being at Fall Market, High Point Market Authority has expanded the schedule from five days to nine days. We expect this to spread out attendance, and enable you to meet your exhibitors while maintaining appropriate social distancing requirements. To further control the flow of attendees, our online registration system will ask guests to select one of three, 3-day periods as their primary attendance period.

Understanding Our Fall 2020 Primary Attendance Periods

Don’t forget to choose a primary period for each of your company’s attendees before you sign in to our online registration system. The system will guide you through the selection process, but you will want to know which period each attendee would like to choose as their primary period before you get started.

Domestic Buyers & Designers allocated to two geographic regions

To make sure representatives will be available to meet their customers while limiting the staff exhibitors must keep in their showrooms, we have worked with the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association (IHFRA), to separate domestic buyers and industry guests into two regions, based on the home state of their company headquarters. Your primary periods are determined by your region:

Region A includes companies whose corporate offices are in the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SD, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY

Region B includes companies whose corporate offices are in the following states: AL, AR, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX

Who's Eligible?
Members of the furnishings and interior design trade, including retailers, online retailers, decorators and interior designers, wholesalers, specifiers, import/exporters, rent-to-own stores, builders/developers, and architects.

What Do I Need?

  • Employer Identification Number (EIN) Certificate and/or State Sales & Use Tax Certificate. Retail Business License or ASID, IDS, IIDA or AIA practitioner membership card accepted in lieu of tax documents. (For EIN information call 800.829.4933 or go to www.irs.gov)
  • Copy of business card
  • Copy of current driver’s license or State Identification Card

International Buyers & Designers

Who's Eligible?
Members of the furnishings and design trade, including retailers, online retailers, decorators and interior designers, wholesalers, specifiers, import/exporters, rent-to-own stores, builders/developers, and architects who are from a country outside of the U.S. and its territories.

What Do I Need?

  • Copy of business license (translated to English)
  • Copy of the VAT tax number or Tax Identification Card from your country
  • Copy of business card from each attendee

For Canadian Buyers

  • Copy of Vendor Permit or Corporation Certificate or GST/HST Certificate
  • Copy of business card from each attendee
  • Copy of driver’s license or photo identification for each attendee

Please Note:
International passes will be mailed if information is received before September 18. Registrations received after September 18 will be available for pick-up at Market in the International Buyers Center located in the High Point Theatre at the Transportation Terminal.

All registration requests for delegations of 10 or more people must be received before Friday, September 18. Passes will be shipped together via courier. Passes for delegations will not be printed during the Market.

Copy of identification page of passport will be requested for all letters of invitation. All documents must be received before your request will be processed. Allow at least five business days for processing. Additional documents may also be requested for letter of invitation requests.

While planning your trip, be sure your Passport and Visa are up-to-date.

Industry Guests

Who's Eligible?
Members of the furnishings and design trade, including factoring companies, manufacturers not exhibiting in High Point, trade association execs, advertising/marketing/public relations, consultants, companies providing services to High Point Market exhibitors, suppliers of fabric springs, foam, furniture finishes, etc.

There will be a $55 fee for each Industry pass. This non-refundable fee will apply to each individual pass requested.

How Do I Register?
To pre-register, email on company letterhead a brief description of your business and reason for attending to registration@highpointmarket.org. Be sure your company mailing address is provided. Also include a copy of your business card. To register on-site, please present your business card and photo identification upon arrival.

If you are requesting a letter of invitation to obtain a U.S. Visa, additional documents may be requested. You must provide us with a detailed spreadsheet on each individual who is anticipated to attend, and a UPS, DHL or FedEx company account number for shipping costs related to the invitation. All documents must be received before your request will be processed. Please allow at least five business days for processing. Deadline is September 18 for letter of invitation requests.

Registration requests for International delegations of 10 or more people must be submitted by Friday, September 18. Passes will be shipped via courier and will not be available to print during Market.

Exhibitor Sales Reps

A designated representative at your exhibiting company will complete your High Point Market registration. Please contact your company for information. Members of IHFRA are admitted to the High Point Market with a membership pin. If you are not an IHFRA member, and if you are not registered with an exhibiting company, please email registration@highpointmarket.org.

Student Passes

Request Student Passes by October 2

Student passes are issued to students enrolled in a college/university degree program with a course of study that must be relative to home furnishings. Students are encouraged to attend the last 2 days of the Market and must be accompanied by a college/university professor. We strongly advise scheduling appointments for any showrooms students intend to visit throughout the Market.

Passes must be requested by a college/university program professor on letterhead by October 2. Email request with a list of students who are attending to registration@highpointmarket.org. All passes are mailed to the college/university program professor.

Please Note:

There is no admission prior to 8am Tuesday, October 13. No one other than exhibitor staff and service providers will be admitted to any showroom prior to 8am on Tuesday, October 13. Please do not attempt to gain entry to any showroom before this official opening time.

We encourage you to make appointments for all of your showroom visits to ensure a representative is available to assist you.
