Brush shoulders with industry leaders at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Mark your calendar for Lead with Vision 2018, on Sunday, October 14, at 5:30pm. "We’re the only organization in the industry that brings together everyone – from retailers and manufacturers to sales reps and suppliers. If you attend Market, you should make plans to attend" says Jeff Child, president of the Hall of Fame Foundation board of directors.

“This is where the leaders gather to network and to recognize the most exceptional individuals in home furnishings with our industry’s highest honor,” Child continues. “Our 2018 class of inductees is comprised of four visionaries whose innovative ideas, entrepreneurial attitudes, and hard work have significantly shaped the home furnishings industry.”

Entrepreneurs, TV personalities and best-selling authors Drew and Jonathan Scott will host the evening, bringing their talents and energy to the 30th Anniversary Induction Celebration.

“We are so passionate about this industry and humbled by the opportunity to participate in the induction ceremonies during the 30-year anniversary,” says Jonathan.

“We appreciate the leaders who have paved the way for designers such as ourselves and are honored to be taking part in the industry’s most prestigious gathering of leaders,” adds Drew.

Continuing with the Foundation’s successful leadership initiative, the keynote speaker will be Mike Krzyzewski, legendary head coach of Duke University’s Men’s Basketball Team and a COLE executive-in-residence at The Fuqua School of Business. The NCAA’s all-time wins leader in men’s basketball and the first Division I men’s basketball coach to reach 1,000 career victories, Krzyzewski has led the U.S. National Men’s Basketball Team to gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, as well as the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey and 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. In 2016, Krzyzewski and Geno Auriemma were honored by USA Basketball as co-recipients of the USA Basketball National Coach of the Year Award.

Musical entertainment will be provided by trumpet maestro Rick Braun. Known for his technical chops, melodic wizardry and compositional prowess, Braun has collaborated across genres with some of the biggest names in music, including Rod Stewart, Tom Petty, Sade, Natalie Cole and REO Speedwagon. "Rick is the consummate entertainer, whose warmth, wit and energy bring a real magic into any room he plays.”

“In this inspiring, fun and elegant gathering, you will feel the power and creativity of our industry,” Child says. “It is a celebration of exceptional leadership across all categories and all roles because our industry deserves no less.”

The evening provides many networking opportunities, including a cocktail reception before the dinner and an After Party to provide one last chance to interact with all in attendance. Launched last year, this nightcap proved to be an outstanding way to conclude the evening as it provided guests the opportunity to congratulate the inductees and their families personally, as well as celebrate the industry with their peers.
